I love Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress and her Night Prince books but I just wasn't wowed by this one.

The Good Stuff: I think getting more information on Mencheres' first wife's obsession of revenge and demise was such a good thing. Although it was touched on in the Night Huntress series the history wasn't as in depth as it could have been. The strength of Kira's character was nice also. Kira, a private investigator, accidentally witness what she thought a murder scene and tried to help. But what really transpire was that she comes up against ghouls and vampire. She was the side casualty and Mencheres, the vampire, help her before she was killed by ghouls.

Mencheres is seeking his own death by letting ghouls kill him but his plan thwarted by Kira. Now, he has to safe Kira but at the same time she cannot let Kira leave with the knowledge of vampire's world with her. Without the b

Um, I liked the book, but this isn't a book I'm running to my friends telling them to read it. It's almost like this story was just to close out that part of what was left from the last Cat and Bones book. I'm glad Mancherries got a book, but I wish the story was a bit better.
But, the best part of the book was getting to see Vlad! We need more Vlad!!!
