After reading any urban fantasy book, I often feel compelled to compare it to similar books. Just take a look at all the titles out there. I’ve already read some of Rachel Morgan, Mercy Thompson, Lily Carlyle, Alex Craft and Jayne Heller and haven’t even gotten to Cassie Palmer, Anita Blake or Kate Daniels. It's a new concept for me. After reading tons of Urban Fantasies, Dakota's book put a different edge to the whole demon genre. I don't know if I really like to book or just like it... I found myself impatiently reading the book. It's a slow book for me. It's slow but very violent and morbidly descriptive. She is an assassin so the book has a lot of killing. I also found myself thinking about the story or remembering certain episodes of the book. This is one of my indications that I like a book. ...more
