I know this is a teen novel and I’m certainly not that audience by a long shot, but a good story is a good story, irregardless of age. Having completed the first two books in the series: Strange Angels and Betrayals, I found this series had such potential. I liked Dru as the tough as nails teenager who could take care of herself, despite the hardships she has endured.

Crazy thing is, I do really like this series. What's so crazy about that is I can't give any of the books more than 3 1/2 stars. I like the concept, the characters are good and once the book finally gets going, it is great. But that's the thing, you never know when the book is FINALLY going to take off. Plus, Dru rambles on and on and on and on....get my point, we all get my point, too bad Dru doesn't. She will ramble to herself in her head in the middle of an important conversation. I read 3 full pages where Dru and Christophe were having a conversation and only 4 lines out of those 3 pages where of them speaking to eachother. The rest was Dru rambling to herself in her head. 3 PAGES! The other characters can barely get a word in between Dru's mental talking to herself. It was distracting and when some dialoge would finally pop up between her mental rambles I would have a moment of confusion wondering what or who was speaking.
BUT when the action started and it finally got down to the good stuff, damn, it was good stuff. Also, the action was spelled out better the third time than in the previous books. I could follow what was going on a bit better. Still choppy, but not as bad.
For some reason I thought this was a trilogy and that I was reading the last book. In a way I was relieved to end it, but then again, I wasn't. Obviously I discovered that this was not a trilogy but an ongoing arc and there will be more books to come. Hopefully there will be a lot more talking with less of Dru's mental ramblings. I will be reading the next book and prob every book after bc it is a great story. Plus the end of this book really got my attention, can't wait for the next one.
Now about the boys, Graves is sweet and he sounds pretty cute and adorable, but the pic i get of him is more big brother than boyfriend. Christophe now, that is boyfriend material vibe all the way. He is way to yummy to be anything else. Guess I'm Team Christophe :)
So, wish I could say I 'really liked it' but it just wasn't to that point for me. Maybe the next one. Read it and see what you think...... ...more

dear sweet lord!!!
sheesh she annoys me! talk about a whiner... i mean.... i suppose i would be whining too if i was stuck in her situation.. and I am a born complainer.. but when your reading a book it just seems so... different....
graves... hm.. nope... i liked him in the first book... sort of... and then he became annoying too... i mean he isn't bad... i wouldn't mind him as a friend actually, he sounds kinda cool to me... but why does freakin Dru have to keep on going on about him.... spoile ...more
