In my review of My Soul to Save, I said that the Soul Screamers series was becoming rather episodic... well, this book makes me want to retract that statement. While the novel begins like a simple "new adventure" for Kaylee, events quickly take an extremely personal turn. Instead of fighting for the lives of strangers, Kaylee is fighting for those closest to her. This change gave the series a bit more gravitas and made this book my favourite in the series so far.
