What Members Thought
Very disappointing. There was no real romance. I mean, their dialogue usually went something like this:
Vamp hero: "Stay with me."
Almost vamp heroine: "No, I'm an independent woman who doesn't need a man."
VH: "Stay with me."
AVH: "No, I can take care of myself even though I have no idea how to handle what has happened to me and am slowly starving to death."
Vampire Servant: "You just need to give her time. Let her chooe you."
VH: "Okay, I'll try. I need you, I'll help you, I'll take care of you."

I would not really consider this a paranormal romance read, even though that is how it was shelved in the store. It is more a dark urban fantasy book if anything. Many of the characters are angry. Lots of twists. Good read.
Meh. Nothing hugely original. Writing not particularly extrodinary. I did read the whole thing and that counts for something. I give it an average.
Overall, I liked the book. Michael was annoying to me with his repeated (and I mean multiple) attempts to control Alex. I had periods that I thought the book was a 1-2 star and period where it was closer to a 3-4. My main issue(s) were with Michael's very controlling nature. I wanted to slap him. Repeatedly. A 3 for me. I will read the next one, but if the controlling continues, I won't continue with this series.
