There wasn't much I liked about this book, but I was amused by this quote...
"That’s Sunny—sweet, polite, goes for the jugular."
After reading this book and Black London; I recognize Kittredge really has a morbid fascination with taking her main characters through violent relationships. This I do not condone nor do I agree with; that being said this is my rational for rating the book so low.
The magic system though was very well detailed and thought out, but the book's back story of the Hex Riots ...more

This was another great book. It was a typical werewolf story, it reminded me of the Mercy Thompson series. She's Insoli (lone wolf type) and Mercy is, as she thinks, the only coyote shapeshifter in existence. Her later love interest is the pretty much the exact opposite of Adam (Mercy Thompson series). He's an alpha, but he also has the persona of a bad guy. We learn later he's actually caring and good. There is a demon thrown in there but we learn that the demon isn't what he's made out to be.

It was good. I liked it.
Luna is a police detective and, unbeknownst to most of the force, a werewolf. A serial killer is on the loose and it's up to Luna and the dangerous leader of a local werewolf pack to find out who is performing the murders.
