I loved all the stories in this anthology. All rated between 4 - 5 stars. My favourites were Astrid Amara's for spinning such a unique and imaginative tale, and Ginn Hale's for the brilliantly complicated hero, Half-Dead Henry. “Cherries Worth Getting” by Nicole Kimberling
3 stars.
The cannibalism took me by surprise and the story was more in the horror genre than I prefer. At times the writing was a bit clinical. While it introduces the Irregulars’ world, this story could’ve been set anywhere. The romance was very secondary but since it deals with reunited lovers it didn’t really need a lot of room.

My least favorite story: Nicole Kimberling's "Cherries Worth Getting" - too many anvils in this one, racism is bad, transphobia is bad, and yes, all of that is true, but there's a way to write about without sounding like a preachy pamphlet. 2 stars.

My most favorite story: Ginn Hale's "Things Unsween and Deadly" - excellent characters that one just has to fall in love with. This is definitely not the last story I'll be reading from Ms Hale!
