This was my first book by Helen Harper and I was pleasantly surprised. I lean more towards Urban Fantasy than Paranormal Romance (as I like my Romance Slow burn and my sex scenes mostly offpage) and at this point, I feel like I've read most of the good traditionally published ones out there. This past year I've turned to more indie / author-published options, which can be a bit hit or miss.

Ivy is a witch, she very smart and talented, but has decided to live her life doing the least amount of work she can. That is until she ends up mistakenly bonded (magically as his partner, not lover) to an order "agent".

Talk about disrupting someone's life. Rafe come off as pompous at first, but once we get to know him, along with Ivy, we learn that isn't the case. He takes his job seriously, plus he's handsome.

Ivy was kick out of The Order (magic university). She only drives a car for hire to make the minimum that will allow her to sit at home and read or watch the show Enchantment.

When she agrees to pet sit for her neighbor little did she know it would let to her bring sucked back in to working for The Order. Somehow she had been bound to working with Adeptus Exemptus Winter for six months.

I found this story silly and fun. I’ll be reading further.
