What Members Thought

I've tried twice now, and I think this author and I just don't get along. The two books I've read have been pleasant, and easy to read, but nothing ever happens! It's all telling. Or maybe I'm just not interested in history enough to appreciate the telling. Either way, everyone else enjoy!

I would give this 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed it. At first I was into the present day story more than the historical story. However, the historical story really had my interest by the end. I would have given it more stars for the historical research alone, but it did drag in places for me as well. Overall, I really enjoyed it.

I don't know how to start this review. I don't know how to put down my love for this book. The story just came alive. It felt that I was there with Carrie in Scotland. The author did great with the characters with making them believable. Like you would see them walking down the street or something. I like the story was broken down. I loved the ending cause it is making me want more of the authors books. I am all over the place with this review lol.
