3 ½ stars – Paranormal/Urban Fantasy Romance
I’m a devoted J.R. Ward fan, and I loooved Covet. But I have to be honest; my enthusiasm for this series has somewhat dwindled.
I think it’s partly because of the yearlong gap in releases and that I read so many books in between. I just can’t keep everything straight with all the Devina/Jim/Sissy/Adrian and battle for souls drama that seems to get more confusing with each book. This book was a bit disappointing. For me, it's more of a 3.5-star book, but I enjoy J.R. Ward and this series so much, I bumped it up. The story seemed a bit disjointed. Too much going on, but not necessarily connected. While it may pull together in the next book, I just didn't feel the connection I had with the previous installments.
