3.5*
This takes place about 6 mo after the first book. Katie is settled in and is learning about the Craft. The bakery is doing well, and they had to hire another person to help- Cookie one of the coven members. The mystery starts right away with the discovery of a dead body while Katie is out on a picnic with Declan. Katie still has 2 guys (Declan and Steve) that are interested in her (and they hate each other).
Decent mystery. The love triangle appears to be resolved in this one (based on somet ...more

3.5 stars. I think this is supposed to be a cozy mystery, but with magic, black magic and murder, it doesn't feel so cozy to me. I'm not a love triangle fan, so I hope it's cleared up. I was especially annoyed with this love triangle because Katie couldn't decide and flirted with both guys.

I forgot about the love triangle in this book. It played a part in the story because of what happened, but I wish she would pick one over the other and be done with it. There's a new detective that I have a feeling will play a part in future books. He comes across as an arrogant bozo, but he could possibly lighten up in time. Okay, what is up with everyone making omelettes or egg based breakfasts for everyone else as if an omelette is going to solve everyone's problems? How about some bacon and

A cute little cozy mystery with some fun witchcraft, but not sure I enjoyed it enough to keep going with the series. I have a hard time keeping the characters straight and I don't care for the love triangle or either of the love interests.
