This isn't a meh 3 star rating it's more an average of thinks I really liked and stuff I really didn't like. So, the good stuff, I really loved the world and the magic here. I'm a sucker for most mythology based things and this has Greek Gods and Cerberus and other good stuff like that. The various magical powers, and Cat's powers are pretty cool. As a fantasy story, I really enjoyed it.

I loved this book. From the moment I picked it up, the story just sucked me in and I didn't want to put it down. Greek Mythology and the gods of Olympus play an important part in the story, but the setting is a totally different world. Cat's gift makes her a valuable asset and she's been abused in the past in order to force her compliance. Surprisingly good. I'm not sure how I missed this when it was released 2016.
I must mention that while I love this, I know the reason why. It probably could because the author uses certain elements, phrases and situations which remind me of a particular favourite Urban fantasy author of mine. I won't mention names, but if I hadn't been marathon re- reading those books, I wouldn't have picked up the similarities.

Loved it - Cat annoyed me at times, but I understood why she was so mistrustful after learning about her past. Griffin and his Beta team were amazing :) And I loved that the heroine is so kick-ass and saves everyone multiple times!
I can't wait to read the rest of this series, but I HATE having to wait so long for the next one! ...more
