I just can't anymore..
DNFed at 30% because she just spent the whole trip being whiny and uncooperative because supposedly she is upset about getting kidnapped and being led around by her captor with a rope. But just now, with barely any prodding she made this binding promise: "I won't try to escape you as long as you live!"
WTF?! It was completely unnecessary! There is nothing in the plot that required it. She just did it because her abductor asked her to!

2 stars - The story and world building has some potential 'deus ex machina' god interventions which absolve unlikable protagonists of really driving their own story aside.

However, it's the pair of extremely unappealing protagonists, particularly a 'good guy' hero who abducts the heroine and sees no parallels between his behaviour and that of the despots he overthrew and only gives his 'lover' freedom when he has all but guaranteed she's well into a rampant case of Stockholm syndrome and a whin ...more

I had such high hopes for this one. Instead, I found the romance to be creepy and forced and the characters to be obnoxious. Bummer.

Loved it - Cat annoyed me at times, but I understood why she was so mistrustful after learning about her past. Griffin and his Beta team were amazing :) And I loved that the heroine is so kick-ass and saves everyone multiple times!

I can't wait to read the rest of this series, but I HATE having to wait so long for the next one! ...more
