Not a bad book though I didn't exactly like any of the characters besides Jagdish. Well, Rada was funny. But there were moments when Ashok really annoyed me though I tried my best to see the whole situation from his POV. Not a bad beginning.

I loved it. Its a bit weird for me, because I simply never read this sort of genre, but I love almost everything Larry Correira has done, so I gave it a shot. and its great. Very original world building, and a very insightful subtext. Most of all its very difficult to not love the protagonist. He is adorable as a talkative little kid, and he is equally adorable as a brutal killing machine. Watching him slowly cure himself of the magic that took his free will, you realize that he is not fearless
