I enjoyed it but be aware that this is part 1 in a duology.
I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure going into to it if I would like it but when I couldn't put it down even to cook dinner for my family, I guess it was safe to say I loved it. Theonly reason why it got only 4 stars is I didn'tlove the ending of it. I realize it left itas a cliff hanger for the next book but I wish the ending would have been a bit different.I can't wait to read The Rose & The Dagger which is the next book and final book. I admit that I am not very familiar with the source material, but that didn't keep me from enjoying this. My complaints were fairly minor - would have preferred more backstory and stakes, some family trees would be helpful - and the story was engrossing. It had me turning pages to see where it was all leading. I can't wait for the next one, as I think the political schemes will come to the forefront and make it all the more exciting.
