This was an impulse buy a while back that ended up sitting on my shelf. I've never read anything by Heather Graham before so I wasn't sure what to expect, although I'd heard her books referred to as paranormal romance. On the whole I enjoyed the book, although it was closer to romantic suspense than most of the paranormal romance books I read.

The plot is clever and well thought out, with a few twists and turns. I managed to figure out who the 'bad guy' was by halfway through the book, although not the reasoning behind the crimes. I liked the ghost angle and found it to be particularly well handled, but I really enjoyed the tour scenes.

I liked Nikki and Brent as characters, but all of the characters in the book seemed a little stereotypical at times. Nikki came across as a bit of a dumb blonde, the other people who worked on the tour seemed a bit underdeveloped and I didn't get the whole political-correctness issue surrounding Brent as it didn't contribute to the storyline.

I was a little disappointed by the setting. I love the Dark Hunter books by Sherrilyn Kenyon which are also set in New Orleans and was hoping the author would catch that same atmospheric feel. Unfortunately she fell short for atmosphere, but did manage to pack in a lot of facts about the city during the tour-focused parts of the book.

All in all, this was a good read and I'd definitely read more by this author.
