Rarely do I stop reading a book mid read. I figure it's a marriage. Sometimes it's bad but you keep going, hoping it will get better. That plot hole will shrink. That heroine will grow a brain stem. Maybe the author will stop using those exclamation marks like they were fertilizer. This one, just no. I got to the scene in the restaurant and gave up. You have defeated me, book. I found the book entertaining, but then I love fantasy sci/fi. The hero was different not the ubber Alpha I usually enjoy but he grew on me. I found the heroine gutsy and interesting. I got the second book in the series but haven't read it yet. ...more
