One of my favourite paranormal fun series I love reading is the Charley Davidson series, where she is a kick ass Grim Reaper type who reminds me alot of Stephanie Plum. At the end of Book #7 we held our breaths as we discovered that Charley was pregnant and that their was a possibility she would die as her name was on Rocket's wall. What can I say, except the series keeps getting better and Charley is always funny.
Months have passed since she and Reyes got hitched, and now it is only a matter of time until Beep is born. The are living in on consecrated ground @ an old convent, so that the hellhounds can't attack. More and more dead people are showing up on their lawn and no one knows why.

Left me looking forward to the next book after my interest started to wane when I read book 7.
The first 30-40% was a bit slow paced though. One third of the book was spend describing the events of ONE day. And while I hate all the recapping that happens in the newest book of a series, I have to admit that some of it was necessary, there has been some time since the last book and the secondary characters are very involved in the plot. But spending 100+ pages on Cookie's wedding was a bit too much ...more

This one was much better than the 7th installment, but the pacing was very slow and not much happened until the end. Not sure how I feel about the new direction of the series but I'm definitely intrigued. ...more
