First line: There was a dead clown sitting in my living room.
4 solid stars, because I am still loving the characters and the storyline, in spite of my initial doubts of my ability to maintain in the face of non-stop comic punchlines. I hope this continues throughout the series, because Charley Davidson and her crew are worth getting to know. Things are changing for Charley, who faces yet another betrayal in this book.
While I'm really enjoying the (admittedly slow) developments, the too many jokes and sometimes Charley's silliness annoy me a little, and that's the reason why I'm not giving this book 4 stars.
Charley's cases are interesting enough and while I saw many of the twists coming, I still enjoyed listening to the story.

The story is starting to become formulaic and disjointed. Too much time is sent jumping from case to case without a thread tying them together. Then very little time is spent exploring Charley's powers as a Grim Reaper. I'll read the next one, but like Charley, I too, have ADD and can see my interesting waning fast.
