Oh, how I love this series. Aiken delivers a marvelous wry heroine and an over the top hero. The book is very loud. There is a ton going on but in the best way. We get to see everyone as we gear up for a new war and enjoy a pitch perfect romance between a dragon and a kickass warrior woman who is considered a runt by her people.

I really like this series I love G.A/Shelly's sense of humour but I really need to be in the mood for it.

Love the Dragonkin series, anything that SL/GA writes really.
Didn't love Elina unfortunately, but that only drops it 1 star.
The story arc alone guarantees a good read, what with Annwyl trying not to kill everything in site cause Dagmar doesn't like it, Celyn the Charming not knowing that his mum doesn't think he can cut it in the dragon army, and Brigid the Foul making an appearance. The steppe riders are a whole new dimension and were very interesting. (Can I have a few husbands to do all the ...more
