HIGHLY pissed at the cliffhanger ending. It'll get a better rating after book 3 (2016?) is released.

I don't know why it took me so long to finish this book - I listened to it on audio, with the amazing Tim Gerard Reynolds narrating, and I started it running a marathon and was gripped. However, I put it aside and when I did pick it back up again, I felt that it got a bit bogged down in the middle of the book. Darrow is just such a admirable guy. He's in over his head, but trying his best to do what he thinks needs to be done. He's a pawn in a larger chess game, okay maybe a bishop or castle, but still just a middle player who doesn't know the whole plan nor even who else is playing on his side.

This series has mixed reviews (some high and some low ratings) but I am one of the fans. I like science fiction and character driven stories so it isn't totally a surprise. I despise politics so I expected not ...more
