Technically, this is a really good book. There is a great plot, and the world in which it is set is amazing. Considering it is the fourth book in the series, there is also a lot of overall progress.

That being said, I was seriously annoyed most of the time I was reading this. I hated the way Shelby's family was acting - and I really really could not relate with how they could be so dumb. I've said it before I'm in awe of Seanan McGuire's imagination. Between this series, Toby Daye and what she writes as Mira Grant to come with with so many different worlds, beings within those worlds and scientific possibilities, there's so much there. I do think that this is the "lighter" in nature series. (view spoiler)

This time Alex heads to Australia to help Shelby and the Thirty-Six Society with a little werewolf problem.

What I enjoyed:
* It was nice to see Alex out of his element, although he did a great job considering no one wanted him there except Shelby and Shelby's dad was an a$$.
