Book 2 in the Realm Enforcers series, which is a spin-off from the Dark Protectors series. There are major spoilers in this book for the Dark Protector books but they can be read and enjoyed without reading the original series.

This second installment was 10x better than the first. It might’ve had something to do with the fact that I’ve now had a chance to back up and read books 1-7.25 in Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series, which laid the foundation for some of these characters.
Honestly, if I wasn’t so annoyed by CeeCee’s constant back and forth between “he thinks I’m weak, like everyone else” to “he sees me as an equal”, I’d have rated this 10 stars.

This was quite the roller coaster ride around the world! Daire and Cee Cee are a combustible pairing, but they work well together...eventually. While I really liked this installment, it had a few too many stops and starts in the first half of the book for me. Once more of the story began to unfold, it seemed to move at a better pace.
