Wicked Ride is the first installment in Zanetti's Dark Protectors same world/spin-off. And, since I jumped ahead and haven't read Dark Protectors, I can tell you that I wasn't lost and didn't feel like I'd missed something by starting this first. I do, however, plan to double back and read that series to see what I've missed as well as continue on with this one. This is the first book in the Realm Enforcers series by Rebecca Zanetti which is a spin-off from the Dark Protector series. Although you don't have to have read the Dark Protector series to enjoy this, there is a major spoiler from the other series so I would definitely recommend finishing the Dark Protector books first unless you don't mind spoiling the plot.
