Although this book kind of moved along and had an interesting premise, for some reason I just wasn't bowled over by it. Because I know Nora Roberts as a Romance/Chick Lit writer, I was curious to see how she handled the paranormal genre and it wasn't terrible. But I found it a bit repetitive and drawn out - the story in this book could easily have been told in about 100 pages less. I can see why - the author probably knew that she was writing a trilogy but still wanted each book to be substantia

The first in the latest formulaic trilogies from Nora Roberts. I for one am a fan of her trilogies, however, I felt this one was not as good as the others. Good idea, poor execution. Halfway through the book, I got bored. I understand that it's a romance, I didn't expect a Stephen King level of horror story, but to me if felt like all the elements simply didn't mesh.
Also, I didn't like the women in this book. Especially Quinn rubbed me the wrong way. I love assertive women, but she wasn't assertive, she was bossy - and so way Cy, but she didn't play as prominent role as Quinn, so - she behaved like she was somehow owed all the information. Basicall ...more
