It's odd how when you feel safe you can't think of that thing it was you kept meaning to do, but when you're running for your life you suddenly remember the entire list of things you never got around to doing.

3.5 stars, probably. I'm not as big a fan of Atticus as I was in the first books, or maybe it's Granuaile I don't like so much, but at least Oberon is still as hilarious as ever. Some monumental things happen in this book, including Oberon getting a girlfriend, and the chase was action-packed. The next book should be interesting with the addition of a new/old character.

I'm still liking this series but I'm not loving it as much as I did when reading the first few books. I can't quite put my finger on why. Some of it I think is that Atticus just still feels kind of shallow. No matter what happens, he just doesn't seem that emotionally engaged. Oberon gets off some good one liners as usual and is probably responsible for most of the emotional depth in the story. Kevin Hearne does it again. Any book where I literally laugh out loud multiple times is worth the time. While a thrilling story, and I loved the roller coaster ride, somehow the overall plot line was not quite as exciting as some of the others in the series. That being said, I still loved it. The characters are just so much fun.
