I can’t honestly say I have never met an Erin Kellison book I didn’t love. Not. One. Once again Kellison has transported me to a world of dark fantasy and passion… you know my happy place. Soul Kissed is the second book in The Shadow Kissed series, which is a spin off from her Shadow series trilogy. I say this in every review of this series; I am completely captivated with the world of Shadow Kellison has created.

Review

I am giving this book 4 stars for great world building and excellent urban fantasy. The romance for me scores more in the 3 star range because Cari is hard to like (It is hard to be likable when you are possessed half the time by a not so nice Fae) and the real relationship between her and Mason didn't start until 55% into the book. They were so guarded with each other, it was hard to see how they could fall in love.

None the less, I am excited about this series. The magic world is an interesting one which reminds me a bit of Robin Owen's Celta Series (one of my favorites) but with the mence found in CT Adams' and Cathy Clamp's Sazi Series (another of my favorites).

Cari redeemed herself in the end and was very kick ass. Mason is just wonderful as a father and person and a hot alpha dude.

The book is non stop action and I did not need to have read the other books in the series nor the ones it spun off from to keep pace. It did drag here and there for me because of my desire for more connection between the leads but overall this was a great world in which to spend some time. If their romance was developed over more books, I think I would have been more comfortable with the pacing but as this is a one book per couple series (which I really prefer), I could never settle and be happy with the love story unfolding.
