3.5 stars. I just could not round up to 4 stars, because I despise Sophie Cavanaugh. But truthfully, it was probably worth 4 stars. Sophie goes to the Netherworld with a new guy, Luca Tedesco, a necromancer.

It doesn't matter how many times I read this, I still hate Sophie.

3.5-4stars- I think maybe I went into this with unmeetable expectations, because I loved "If I Die" so much. Even for a novella, this one felt incomplete to me. It didn't even span the period to the end of "If I Die," and there just wasn't enough of a plot. It was more of a story about introducing a character and new facts about Sophie. It was, however, interesting to see things (including a certain hallway scene from If I Die) from the "mean girl"'s point of view, and I enjoyed the novella all ...more

Never to Sleep is a Soul Screamers short that gives us a closer look at Sophie, Kaylee's cousin. While she's never been my favorite character, I did enjoy having the opportunity to see how she and Luca met. I also really like it when Rachel takes us into the Netherworld.
