Jubilee/Lee and Flynn

A water-bogged world, Soldiers against Inhabitants both seeming to suffer from "The Fury." Who really is the bad guy? Jubilee is a Soldier and Flynn is an Inhabitant who's trying to find a peaceful way to stop the fighting. This book was interesting. Grey world full of swamps and rebels, who are tired of not being considered citizens of the universe and therefor having no rights and no help from the others. The main idea is a continuation of the idea in the first book. However the transition is not at all smooth. I didn't love this one quite as much as These Broken Stars, didn't find Flynn and Jubilee quite as compelling. Not to mention that the whispery interludes on the audiobook were hella-creepy when listened to at 1.6x speed.

But I'm looking forward to the finishing up the series and finding out how it all ends. ...more
