I think the author had a good idea here but I just wished that she had stayed away of the plot points that were like BDB. Doesn't it make sense for dragons to actually like the sun instead of being repelled by it? Also, the business of the energy and the meridian was so freaking complicated that I had problems keeping things straight. I didn't understand how the baby could be born almost at the same time as a realignment of the meridian. If that happens only twice a year (assuming every 6 months ...more

This was a good start to a PNR w/dragons. But, if you've read JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, you may find the writing similarities (and there are many) distracting, I did. Sadly, that kept me from truly enjoying the book. But, those who have not read BDB should enjoy it more.
