I'm not much for fairytales but Uprooted was pretty enjoyable for the most part.

Sarkan is a wizard who lives a solitary life except for the company of one girl. He would choose a girl at the age of 17 from one of the villages surrounding the evil and corrupted Woods every 10 years and keep them in his tower. I have never read anything like this book. The uniqueness of it is an easy 5 stars. It took to reading the end of Chapter 5 to take me to being mildly curious to suddenly interesting.

The book is about magic and witches and princes and thrones and more. The best part i think is the villain, known as The Wood.

The Wood seems to be an entirety and not manipulated by anybody. Its history was unknown until it was revealed at the last chapter. The Wood at first glance, takes root in people. When a pe
