I am sad about this one. Harrison is very talented writer and her world as always is rich and fun. I was very much looking forward to a book about an owl shifter and librarian. How cool is that? But no. All telling and no real emotional connection to characters. Not enough of the relationship. I put this one down and picked it up again many times. I really just was not interested in finishing. Maybe I will change my review later if I do but for now. Meh.

Another story in the Elder Races universe, featuring a cursed Eagle Owl Wyr male and a gifted human female who are both part of the team sent to retrieve Carling's extensive library.

The glimpses of familiar characters from previous books that are usually part of the short stories make the world seem three-dimensional and realistic.

This was a short, but no less thrilling trip through the world of the Elder Races. I very much enjoyed how well developed the characters and story were despite the short length of the story. I hope to see more of Olivia and Sebastian, but am happy I got this snippet if nothing else!
