I think I figured out why I never really loved the Sabina Kane books. They were really well written and solid, but I never really liked Sabina. I just kept waiting for her to switch sides again. But Ms. Wells is good at her craft, so I decided to give her new series a try. I'm so glad I did. I liked Kate right from the start. Sure, she's got flaws, but she's someone you can root for. Another solid series from Ms. Wells, just this time with a likable lead.

This is a UF not really a PNR... So far there is no indication of heavy romantic emos just hints. So for those who thought to read juicy love triangles and romantic drama... This first book isn't it. It makes you hopeful though since there are pretty interesting characters in the book.
It's a straight forward UF where a cop with a shady past is trying to right the wrongs from her past... Instead she is forced to face the dirtier present which links everything to her past. :P
