Ivy, Adrian, Zach, Costa
I want to get the one thing that I didn't like off my chest first. I absolutely hate when people keep secrets from the person or people, they need help from. Tell them the truth and let the chips fall where they may.
Other than that, I thought this was a solid opening for the first book in a trilogy. I love that Ivy was willing to do whatever it takes to save her sister, even though she didn't really know what she was getting into.

Didn't enjoy this at all, in fact I ended up skimming it. Was it YA? NA? or just a childish fantasy? Not sure and I don't care, about any of them.
This was my 2nd attempt at reading the book, needless it didn't end well. Such a shame after Cat & Bones :(
A complete waste of time, the only saving grace is that I got it from the library. ...more

There is something not working out for me here.
Everything looks so cliched. He is a gorgeous Sulky Sulk McSulkivan, she is misunderstood and lonely, but truly secretly gifted, special and beautiful... rings any bells?
All I can say in defence of this book is that Ivy is not stupid, and I feel that if that is all you need to be ahead of the supernatural YA pack, then is time to move over to another genre.
But it is entertaining, is not offensive, it is, mostly harmless.
