There were some interesting surprises here as we learned more about both Maggie's and Terrent's backgrounds as they are investigating who is sabotaging the inoculations. The only reason I can't give five stars is because this story was too short! There were some amazing twists and turns in this story, and I loved seeing Maggie flourish. I'm looking forward to seeing how Maggie and Terrant are doing in the next few books. ...more

This was a difficult book for me to review as I love the series and I felt this one let me down. An Alpha wolf that would leave his mate for 10 years.......that was what bugged the hell out of me. Yes Terrent was off fighting a war but he is still going off to fight a war so what is different?.

Maggie was a bit annoying, she wanted to fight yet she is clumsy and she knows it. It was proven to her in a fight scene that she really does not know what she is doing yet she stupidly insists on going to ...more

This one is about Terrent & Maggie. Their story has been building in the other books and finally this short story tells it. It's cute, but I thought the culprits of tainting the vials was a let down. Jase was in it, and he didn't seem as damaged as he was/should be, almost as if I missed a time jump between this book and the previous one.
