That was enjoyable.
When we first meet him, Gerald is a civil servant with aspirations...but he's lacking the real ambitious oomph to do anything about it. He's not lazy. He's quite like the majority of us, actually: doing our best, deeply disliking bullies, and wishing the world was a little more just.

It started off slow, but it picked up and I couldnt put it down! I guess it comes with setting up characters. I would of thought Gerald, the sorcerer would be a bumbling idiot not unlike Rincewind from Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. But it actually surprised me and I found myself unable to put it down.
