What a way to end a series! Everything has come full circle. The big questions about Ivy's vampire soul and the demons curse are answered and Rachel (and her friends) find their happy endings. I shed a few tears of happiness myself at the end.

The 3 star is really an average of things I loved and things I hated about this book (and honestly the series in general). The stuff I loved, I really loved it. The stuff that bugged me made me want to toss the book (it was from the library so I didn't).

What I liked: As always the world is fabulous. I do really love this world and the different races in it. What I liked: As always the world is fabulous. I do really love this world and the different races in it. The history and relationships between the elves, demons, vamps & witches gives it some depth and the personalities and quirks of the characters keep it entertaining. Jenks was his usual self and though I was disappointed we didn't see more Bis I did like that the focus was back on Rachel, Ivy & Jenks working together. Truthfully, I'll always love Kisten but I'm OK with Trent as the hero now and I think he's grown and changed probably the most of anyone in the series. When the focus was on the plot and the action and our team working together, I really loved it.

What I didn't like: The return of emo-Rachel. OMG, every page was full of whining about how people wouldn't be in danger, or would be in charge, or somehow would be better off if it wasn't for her. First of all, ego much? Secondly, these are all grown people Ivy, Trent, hell even Al, have been making their own decisions for a while now. Stop making excuses for them when they treat you badly and stop thinking that they'd all be better off without you. Rachel seemed to grow out of this attitude in Pale Demon (probably why it's my favorite book in the series) but it crept back in with Ever After and really resurfaced here. Moments of self-doubt are necessary in a main character or else they come off cartoonish. Self-doubt on nearly every page is just too much for me.

So, overall, even though I have my issues with Rachel that cause my personal enjoyment of each installment to go up and down I did enjoy this series. I'd totally recommend it to people wanting a good UF series that has a really good mix of dark & light. No one gets away without being hurt in some way but it's not unrelentingly dark either. ...more

Thank you for the making this the last book of the series. :)

Rachel seems so different but still the same girl we all love. The vamps were really annoying in this book but their story needed to be told. So happy with the ending. Glad that it's finally done too. It was starting to get crazy long.

A little confused at the beginning, it felt like I missed a chapter, but then it got rolling and absolutely loved it. Non stop action, and back stabbing. Loved the humor, always have. What a shock as to who Trent willed the girls to. Loved having so many of the characters in this book (Al, Newt, Edden, Stanton,Quen, John, etc). Really sweet ending. Really liked the size, it gave you so much to sink your teethe into.
