I can't believe this is the 10th book and I'm all caught up! This series has had its up and downs but the last couple books have been really great and I'm actually excited for the next book which hasn't happened with this series in a while.
Things I especially loved:
1. Mallory is back! I did not like her after her dark days and I'm glad her and Merit are moving towards what they had in the first couple books. She pretty much rocked with her sleuthing skills and I can see her as a future Ombuddy. ...more

The book started a bit slow and never completely picked up. Lots of waiting around. They are waiting for Darius's response, then they are waiting for information. The end did surprise me and I'm curious to see what that will lead to.
Ethan has challenged Darius to lead the Vampire Council and now they are awaiting his response. At the same time, someone is killing humans with supernatural items left at the scene. Merit is busy with both things and Ethan is keeping a secret from her.

This series is really entertaining. :) Of course Ethan acts all weird. And how mean is that? Fake-prose! It's not funny. Anyway, I used to be a big fan of this series. Chloe Neill really writes well. But that one book where Ethan dies... no! It's not a spoiler, all CV fans know what I'm talking about that super depressing book in the series! Ugh!. Anyway, ever since that book the sparkle or shine of the series never came back for me. I still enjoy it but I am no longer attached to the characters
