This is part one of a serial story the authors had on their blogsite. It's a Scifi/Urban Fantasy mash-up about Dina Demille who's trying to get her inn, The Gertrude Hunt Bed & Breakfast back to its former (supernatural) glory. In the meantime her neighbourhood is being attacked by wild animals and there's a new werewolf in town who's peeing on her trees.

We're dropped right into this story without a lot of build-up. Dina is a bit of a Kate clone but I love Kate so who cares! The story was full

Warning - for the very beginning (view spoiler)

I wanna be an innkeeper!!!! What a novel idea. And I really want to be an innkeeper - and have a Shih Tzu Chi. And if you want to throw in a sexy werewolf as well, I wouldn't complain.

It was very refreshing to read about supernatural creatures we've never seen or that have a very different origins. Dina is very relate-able and has an interesting back story with some mystery to be revealed in

When I start a new series from authors I love, there is always that moment of doubt that they won't be able to live up to their past books/series. With Ilona and Andrew Gordon, I really shouldn't be worried. They have the ability to:

1. Create the most likable characters including a lot of morally ambiguous ones which make me question myself since I tend to love them so much:
"If he ever becomes an issue, I could eat him. He looks delicious."

2. Amaze me with their creative magical worlds. There ar

This was so much fun that I'm ignoring a couple of paragraphs of infodumping for the 5* rating. I loved that the werewolves and vampires of this world were less supernatural and more sci-fi/alien in nature. I loved Dina's powers and relationship with the inn. And, as usual, Andrews writes excellent alpha males who are totally alpha but never a-holes. I even loved the "love triangle" which really wasn't an angsty love triangle at all but more fun flirting between people who had just met. But I th ...more

Don't let the cover deceive you. It's not dungeon and wizard type of story. Our little Innkeeper is as modern as the next scientist. The Paranormals are more of aliens from other planets. Genetic mutation from homo sapien. In short they are still compatible with our very human innkeeper. :)

I liked the pace. This is an urban fantasy not a PNR. The authors stuck with the action plot and didn't dwell on feelings etc. :) I also like the banter. It was hilarious for me.

Thanks to this book my interest

This was totally cool and I wish I could have read it as a serial! I bet that was a ton of fun for the fans.

> Dina is freaking fantastic. I love The Gertrude Hunt and little Beast. Her broom was totally B.A. I really hope she finds her family!

> I have to know more about Caldenia. Every scene she was in, she stole the show.

> I thought it was especially cool that Vamps & WWs were aliens. Curious to see how the potential love triangle gets resolved.
