Today is the day that I admit that I just can't with this book. I started it last year and am only 175 pages in. The thing about Neal is that when I like his work, I really love it (see Anathem and The Diamond Age: or, a Young Lady's Illustrated Primer) but when I don't like it I really hate it (cough Interface cough). I wish I could explain what I don't like about Quicksilver, but there's not really anything specific I can point to. The premise is right up my alley, the characters seem well-for
