OK. Maybe a 2.5. But... that's as high as I will go.
It is a much too long novel, an unmoving love story, a silly science fiction time travel story, a completely unsuccessful medical mystery. The characters are much too characterized, trite, predictable, and dull.
Did I say too long? Give this author a red pen, an exacto-knife, a delete button, God... a good editor.
The baby/ infertility aspects were torture. The pseudo genetics were too pseudo. The popping in/ popping out of time were ultimately ...more

Very few books actually make me cry - this one is one of them. It's just lovely all the way through.
