I really wanted to dislike this book and failed. Damn you, Margaret Atwood.
A creepy post-apocalypic tale of misogyny and mysery and infertility and toxic destruction of the former US; of power and deceit and ugliness. A 1984-like tale, except more horrid and luridly believable. Like a roadside accident, you stare, not believing -- or, not wanting to believe.
Only the ending was disappointing. It. Just. Like. Ended.
Nevertheless, an interesting book. In a creepy way, of course.
