I can honestly say I enjoyed this book more than I did the first time I read it. It was still a difficult and emotional book to read, but it still fits perfectly in the BDB world, and it still deals with the issues that have been hanging around during the series.

I can honestly say I enjoyed this book more than I did the first time I read it. It was still a difficult and emotional book to read, but it still fits perfectly in the BDB world, and it still deals with the issues that have been hanging around during the series.

I had completely forgotten about the Wizard! I still didn't like him. LOL I was very annoyed with Phury the first time I read this book, and now I feel bad for him, and what he's had to go through during his whole life. I feel he's always had the short end of the stick. First with being the brother left behind, then dealing with his father's addiction, then looking for his missing twin and finding him where he did, then sacrificing himself for said twin. His whole life has been about pleasing others, and the only way he found to deal was through drugs.

I wish we didn't have to see him fall so deep. And I wish we would've seen more of the romance developing between Cormia and Phury. By the end of the book I didn't really feel their connection. Yes, I felt it with Cormia, but not from Phury. I loved the time when she came out of the pool and JM, Blay and Qhuinn were drooling over her and Phury came and almost killed them, LOL The scene between Phury and Cormia in the theater where they get interrupted by the Directrix and a Chosen, heartbreaking.

The JM/Xhex drama goes on, I LOVE IT. My favorite parts are when Xhex gets in his head and sees that he's been fantasizing about her, and she says to him "Next time you think of me like that, say my name when you come. It'll get you off even better". But then later on JM gets drunk and she finds him in the bathroom, and he gets the balls to mouth to her "I want to fuck you" but then as she might be considering it, she gets a call from security and has to leave, but he writes on a napkin "Next time say my name, you'll come more".

Lash is an ass, I hate his guts. There's nothing else to say about him.

When Thor comes back, and ignores JM, my heart broke when JM thinks this: "In his mind, he had the conversation he wanted to have with Tohr: Qhuinn & Blay ended up here, Qhuinn's parents are dead, Lash is... I don't know what to say about him. There's a female I like, but she's out of my league, I'm in the war & I missed you & I want you to be proud of me & I'm scared & I miss Wellsie & are you all right? Most important, please say you're not leaving again. Ever. I need you" ...more

As usual this book was wonderful! Simply wonderful.
I think what makes this series so appealing, and why I love it so much, is that even though each of the Brothers are proud, strong warriors, they’re also tremendously flawed. They’re fierce and dangerous, and yet they’re all so complex and complicated. They each have their own issues and problems and I love watching each and every one of them begin to move past their issues in each book. It’s beautiful to read and

They each have their own issues and problems and I love watching each and every one of them begin to move past their issues in each book. It’s beautiful to read and this book was no different.
I really felt for Phury in this book. Once again, I had no clue the extent of the personal demons he battled within himself. He’s always been the most self-sacrificing of the Brotherhood, but I never knew just what drove him to do this and feel the way he did. He felt so bad about what had happened to Zsadist, and that coupled with the way his parents felt, and how they ended up, had such an effect on him.
Cormia was a very sweet, innocent person, who had no real outside experience in the world. With men, or with life in general. I liked watching her begin to see the world for real, and I like reading as she slowly fell for Phury and made him begin to care for more than himself in return. It was his feelings for her that drove him to really step up and I was so happy to see that.

I was ecstatic that Tohrment returned, although my heart still broke for John. He’s been through so much himself, but I really like the sexual tension between him and Xhex. I’m looking forward to seeing where that goes in later books.
Another thing I found I really liked was the relationship between Blay and Qhuinn. While I admit, that I wasn’t surprised that Blay was in love with Qhuinn after seeing how he looked at him once when they were at the club and seeing how he acted, I will say I was shocked that Qhuinn cared for Blay as deeply as he did. Even though he didn’t return Blay’s feelings to the same extent he did, he really cared about him, perhaps even loved him, and all he wanted was what was best for him. It was very sweet.

This is easily shaping up to be one of my ALL TIME FAVE series's and I CANNOT wait to read the rest of the books!

Ah, yes, a nice return to the drama of Book 3 that got pushed to the back-burner during the Butch/Vishous saga. Finally got some things cleared up, but lots of new plot points.

And Lassiter. Total hotness, not that he holds a finger to Rehv. Poor Rehv.

I'm so excited that I finally get to read Rehvenge's book since it comes out in Mass Market to match the rest of my set tomorrow :D Yay! ...more

I enjoyed this book. I liked the side story of John/Blay/Qhuinn the best. I did sort of like Phury by the very end of the book, but he made it hard to like him.
