Reading A Rush Of Wings is like riding the biggest and fastest roller coaster in the world:you know you want out from the moment you get on,you're constantly terrified, million emotions and thoughts go through your heart and brain, but you know deep down that in the end you're gonna completely and full heartedly enjoy it.

I picked up this book solely based on the reviews by other readers. So when I began I had high hopes for the story, but I was confused for the first couple of chapters. And if it weren't for the Glossary, I would have put the book down. I really couldn't figure out what was going on with the Cajun/French/Elohim language. But I didn't give up and I'm glad. If I could say one statement about A Rush of Wings is would be: "There is something for everybody." Many of us who read within the UF and PNR genre love to have more. and A Rush of Wings is just that.

There is suspense as a serial killer is on the loose, the Cross Country Killer. Adrian treats her readers to the inside working of the CCK's mind- not my most favorite (seems quite real and I prefer fantasy) but very thorough.

There is mystery as we meet Lucien, Dante and the rest of the Dark world.

If you are a fan of Dark Urban Fantasy, then you MUST read “A Rush of Wings”! This tale of FBI Agents, Fallen Angels, and Vampires is a darkly sexy adventure that will make readers experience a myriad of emotions. Fear, desire, anger, pity, and understanding are just some of the emotions Phoenix so eloquently portrays in a world of serial

Actually, one of the few books I actually like the little bit of dialect dialogue (cajun). Not what I expected at all...
