Trying to identify the style of this book. Reminds me a little of the fractured fairy tales on TV long ago, but also of something else. Very different from Angleberger's Origami Yoda.

This is a fascinating and rather bizarre story about life working for one of the world's worst bosses.
The story itself is difficult to describe, because any attempt to actually explain any scene in the book causes one to collapse into intense giggles, making it very difficult to type. The best one can say is that every proper noun in the book is very silly, and that the plot is a sort of period mystery of manners, about mysterious thefts, low wages and uncomfortable underclothing.
