This was a delightful story, a genuine page-turner of a tale involving a young girl, her grandmother, the stories of her trapeze-artist dead parents, a friendly crow, an unfriendly motel owner, an even less-friendly church organist, a boy who is sort of a modern Georgian Tom Sawyer, a woman who bakes seventeen cakes for the county fair, a very old curse involving a stage magician, and other things even more difficult to explain.
