I liked this book, but didn't love it, because of the use of a couple of annoying clichés and a glaring oversight.
The clichés involved the idea that a child will always benefit from being yanked away from everything and everyone they love, and being sent on an "adventure." Just once, I'd like to see a story about the times when a kid doesn't want to go, and he's right.
