The basic story was fun, but the girl's parents were just a little too annoying, and the subplot with the code didn't grab me, especially the part with the uncle and the well-timed illness. That scene was too much like a Monty Python skit making fun of mysteries.
I did enjoy the rabbit society, and now I understand why rabbits and marmots are unlikely to be invited to the same parties.
The story felt like an updated Wind in the Willows in the good parts, but some of the story fell short.
