I was very impressed with this historical fiction novel about a Malayan mother, Cecily Alcantara, who becomes a spy for the invading Japanese forces during WWII mainly due to a man, Fujiwara, with whom she became romantically involved even though both of them were married.

Beautiful and captivating, a telling of Mayalas experience with the Japanese invasion of Mayalsia during WW2. This was a new side of the war for me a new perspective for me to learn about. Thank you to the author for sharing her familys experience and learning more about others affected to teach us something new.
