What Members Thought
Loved the story, loved the old school vibe, and loved Carney... He was so cool and laid back. This book was a pleasure to read. I felt transported back to 1950 and 60's Harlem and I enjoyed it. One man's struggle to to rise and the "shuffle" he had to do to make it. Carney learns things about himself and we learn with him. In some ways everyone is shuffling, the rich and the poor. This book will make great discussion - I loved it!
